The observatory of the Astrophysical Institute on the Kamenskoye plateau is located at an altitude of 1450 meters above sea level.
The building of the institute was built after the war by Japanese prisoners. The construction itself on the plateau began in 1947. Now there are 4 telescopes, which are used to observe galaxies, stars, planets and geostationary satellites.
