Big Almaty Peak (BAP) is one of the most popular destinations for mountain tourism enthusiasts in the vicinity of Almaty. Climbing difficulty: medium, climbing experience is required. The height of the peak is 3680 meters.
To the east of the peak is the Big Almaty Lake, from the west its slopes bends around the Almarasan Gorge along which the Prokhodnaya River flows. The Tien Shan Astronomical Observatory was built on the slopes of the peak.
